The Board designates as student "directory information" the following: a student's name; address; telephone number; date and place of birth; photograph; major field of study; participation in officially-recognized activities and sports; height and weight; if a member of an athletic team; dates of attendance; date of graduation; awards received; honor rolls and scholarships, or telephone numbers only for inclusion in school or PTO directories.

The district will make the above information available upon a legitimate request unless a parent, guardian, or adult student notifies the school in writing within 30 days from the date of this notification that he/she will not permit distribution of any or all such information. The Federal No Child Left Behind Act requires secondary schools to release directory information to military recruiters, unless a parent/guardian or adult student opts out of releasing this information.

The District allows parents the opportunity to review the materials to be used, as well as the opportunity to observe the instruction, and gives parents the right to have their child excused from the instruction without penalty.

The Board of Education will insure that proper notification is given to parents and staff members when a pesticide is to be applied; the type of pesticide and its potential side effects; the location of the application; and the date of application, prior to its application.
