In 2001 I received my Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University (GO CHIPS!).  Since then, I have had the privilege to teach math and science here at Ealy.

When I am not in school, I love to be outdoors.  My family and I love to do most anything that is outdoor related.  One of our favorite activities is kayaking area lakes and rivers.  Some other personal hobbies include biking, hiking, and fishing.  Besides playing outside, I also work there as well.  During the summer months I work for a local irrigation/lawn maintenance company.  I have worked with landscaping and irrigation since I graduated from Montague High School in 1995.

As a teacher, I believe kids need to want to learn before they will truly learn.  I do my best to help students "want" to learn by giving them hands-on experiences so they can see a value in what they are learning.  A quote I give to my students at the beginning of the year--"It's your life, show up for it" (anonymous).  I use this quote to help them realize they will make positive gains in their lives if THEY take an active role in their learning and seeking of what they do not understand.  Until THEY decide to do this, no one else can make them learn.
